The Namiki Yukari Royale Night Scene fountain pen evokes a moonlit landscape where a pavilion, pines, and a waterfall invite quiet contemplation.
A full moon lights a pavilion, suggesting a human presence among rocks, pines, other pavilions, and a waterfall. Nearly silhouetted forms and water that seems held still give the landscape its quiet, mysterious atmosphere.
The design draws on a haiku that finds both nothing and everything in a springtime hut, inviting reflection on people and nature. Yutaka works the scene in Togidashi Maki-e on black urushi, with silver powder in selected details and gold powder at the ends of the pen.
Made in Japan, the pen has a two-tone 18k gold nib and takes ink cartridges or a converter for bottled ink. It measures 149.2 mm long with its screw-on cap in place and has a barrel width of 15 mm. A wooden presentation box is included.
