The Zeppelin LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin combines a quartz chronograph and a big date on a blue sunray dial.
Big date and chronograph
The big date at 6 o’clock is easy to read at a glance. A single counter tracks chronograph intervals of up to 12 hours, and a subdial shows the small seconds.
Sunray dial
Fine lines radiate from the center of the blue dial, so its tone shifts with the light. White numerals stand out against it, and luminous hands and hour markers help you read the time in low light.
Named for LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin
LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin made 590 flights between 1928 and 1937 and covered more than a million miles. In 1929, it completed the first round-the-world airship flight with passengers on board.
The details
The Swiss Ronda 5020.B quartz movement powers the hours, minutes, small seconds, big date, and chronograph beneath a hardened K1 mineral crystal. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm across and 11 mm thick. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The brown leather strap fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.

How does the big date differ from a standard date?
It shows the date in larger figures, at 6 o’clock, so it is easier to read at a glance.
What is a sunray dial?
A dial finished with fine lines that radiate from the center. As the light moves, the blue tone brightens and darkens across the surface.
What is K1 crystal?
K1 is mineral glass that has been heat-treated to harden it, so it resists scratches and impacts better than standard mineral glass. A deep scratch can’t be polished out, though.
How does it differ from 8684-4?
8684-4 has a green dial. Both share the 40 mm case, the big date, and the Ronda 5020.B.
How water resistant is it?
It’s water resistant to 50 meters, but Zeppelin advises against wearing it in the shower or tub, or swimming in the ocean with it.
