Vostok Europe Systema Periodicum Sulfur places yellow accents against a layered black dial, with the crown and chronograph pushers at 12 o’clock.
Systema Periodicum takes its name from the periodic table, first published in 1869 and now organizing 118 recognized elements. Each watch is dedicated to one element, identified by its symbol, table cell, and a short description on the case back. Sulfur forms yellow crystals and occurs in pure form near thermal springs and volcanoes. Its uses were known in ancient Greece, China, and Egypt. Yellow accents mark this edition’s black dial.
The crown and chronograph pushers sit at 12 o’clock, giving the asymmetrical case its bullhead layout. A black PVD bezel surrounds the layered black dial, with Super-LumiNova on the hands and metal hour markers. A metal-ceramic insert sits in the unidirectional rotating bezel, and the curved case back is secured by screws.
The Japanese TMI VK67 meca-quartz movement supplies the hour, minute, and seconds hands and the date, with a chronograph that measures up to 12 hours. Quartz regulates the time, while a mechanical reset returns the stopwatch hand to zero. An anti-reflective 3.5 mm K1 crystal covers the display.
The 316L stainless steel case measures 46 mm across, 15.5 mm thick, and 55.5 mm from lug to lug. Leather and silicone straps are included, both 24 mm at the lugs, with quick-release spring bars and buckle closures. Water resistance is rated at 20 atm, and production is limited to 3,000 watches.

What is a meca-quartz chronograph?
Quartz regulates the timekeeping, while the chronograph uses a mechanical mechanism to move and reset its hands. The central stopwatch hand returns directly to zero when reset, giving it a different action from an entirely electronic chronograph.
How does K1 crystal differ from sapphire?
K1 is reinforced mineral glass chosen for impact resistance. Sapphire is harder and more resistant to scratches, so the two materials have different strengths. The anti-reflective coating on this watch’s K1 crystal reduces glare.
Does the case diameter include the lugs?
The 46 mm diameter describes the width of the case. Its 55.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement runs in the other direction, from the tip of one lug to the tip of the opposite lug. That longer measurement describes how far the case extends along the wrist, which the diameter alone does not show.
Where are the watch and its movement made?
Vostok Europe assembles the watch in Vilnius, Lithuania, using a Japanese movement from Time Module Inc. (TMI). Founded in August 2003, the company began using Japanese movements in 2010 and stopped importing Russian movements in 2014.
Why are the crown and pushers above the dial?
Their position gives the watch its bullhead layout, with the controls grouped at 12 o’clock instead of along the side. That arrangement defines the asymmetrical case. The meca-quartz movement combines quartz timekeeping with a mechanically resetting chronograph that measures up to 12 hours.
