The new Iro-Miyabi fountain pens are made of ebonite and lacquered using the traditional Ishime-nuri technique, which simulates the appereance of stones. The lacquer takes months to dry, and several lacquers have to be applied in order to obtain the desired final result. The colour of this Fukaai pen was favoured by Samurai as a lucky colour. Each Iro-Miyabi fountain pen is supplied in a Pauwlonia box, ink cartridges and a converter.
