Overview
The Pilot Capless fountain pen in matte gray gives the push-button design a muted metal exterior, with its gold nib tucked inside between uses.
The restrained finish emphasizes the retractable form, with the nib stored inside the barrel whenever it is not in use. This version has a titanium-plated 18k gold nib.
A push of the button extends the nib and the next push retracts it behind an internal shutter. This carries forward the capless concept Pilot introduced in 1963. The fountain pen accepts Pilot ink cartridges or a compatible converter for bottled ink and includes a converter.
Made in Japan, it measures 154 mm long. The barrel is 13 mm wide, and the pen weighs 43 g.

How does the Capless work without a separate cap?
Press the button to extend the nib for writing, then press it again to retract it into the barrel. An internal shutter closes over the retracted nib to help protect it from drying out.
Which cartridges and converter fit this Capless?
It accepts Pilot IC-50 ink cartridges or a Pilot CON-40 converter for bottled fountain pen ink. A converter is included.
How should I care for the matte exterior?
Clean the matte exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners.
