Overview
The Pilot Capless Decimo in mauve softens the retractable fountain pen’s silhouette with lilac lacquer, rhodium-plated accents, and a slim aluminum body.
Decimo arrived in 2005 as the tenth generation of the Capless. Its aluminum body makes the fountain pen narrower and lighter than the regular model, with lilac lacquer and rhodium-plated accents completing this version.
The rhodium-plated 18k gold nib extends at the push of a button and retracts behind an internal shutter, so there is no separate cap to handle. The fountain pen accepts Pilot ink cartridges or a compatible converter for bottled ink, with a converter included.
Made in Japan, it measures 139.5 mm long. The barrel is 11.7 mm wide, and the pen weighs 20.6 g.

What makes the Decimo a slimmer and lighter Capless?
Decimo uses an aluminum body to make the Capless format slimmer and lighter while retaining the push-button mechanism. This version weighs 20.6 g and has an 11.7 mm barrel width.
How does the Capless work without a separate cap?
Press the button to extend the nib for writing, then press it again to retract it into the barrel. An internal shutter closes over the retracted nib to help protect it from drying out.
Which cartridges and converter fit this Capless?
It accepts Pilot IC-50 ink cartridges or a Pilot CON-40 converter for bottled fountain pen ink. A converter is included.
Can I rinse the whole pen when cleaning it?
No. Flush the removable writing unit with clean water and keep the outer housing and barrel out of the water. Clean the lacquered exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners.
