Vostok Europe Vilnelė Chronograph carries the river’s wave motif around a gradient blue dial, beneath a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
Vilnelė takes its name from the river that flows through Vilnius past Castle Hill. The wave-pattern bezel refers to its name, which means little wave in Lithuanian. A gradient blue dial sits within it, with applied metal hour markers and Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers.
The Japanese Miyota JS20 quartz movement drives the hour, minute, and seconds hands. Its chronograph uses small hands on separate subdials to show elapsed seconds and up to 30 minutes, while the 24-hour indicator follows the main time display. This gives the stopwatch its own readings without using a central chronograph seconds hand.
A domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial. The 316L stainless steel case measures 39 mm across and 11.9 mm thick, with a screw-down crown and case back. Water resistance is rated at 10 atm.
A blue leather strap and a silicone strap are included, each 20 mm at the lugs with quick-release spring bars and buckle closures. The complete set comes in a VE compact box, and production is limited to 3,000 watches.
The Vilnelė is the river that runs through Vilnius past Castle Hill. Its name means little wave in Lithuanian, echoed by the wave pattern cut into the watch’s bezel.
Sapphire has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, making it highly scratch-resistant. Harder materials can still mark it, and a strong impact can chip or crack it. The anti-reflective coating reduces glare on this watch’s domed crystal.
The 39 mm diameter describes the width of the case. Its 46.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement runs in the other direction, from the tip of one lug to the tip of the opposite lug. That longer measurement describes how far the case extends along the wrist, which the diameter alone does not show.
Vostok Europe assembles the watch in Vilnius, Lithuania, using a Japanese movement from Miyota. Founded in August 2003, the company began using Japanese movements in 2010 and stopped importing Russian movements in 2014.
The Miyota JS20 uses a small chronograph seconds hand instead of a central stopwatch hand. A separate counter adds up to 30 elapsed minutes, and the 24-hour indicator follows the main time display. Each reading therefore has its own scale.
