Overview
Vostok Europe Space Race Automatic carries aviation-inspired markings on a textured blue dial, surrounded by a case finished in rose gold PVD.
The Space Race collection follows the competition between the USSR and the United States from the first artificial satellite in 1957 to the Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1975. Between those milestones came probes to the Moon, Venus, and Mars, as well as crewed lunar missions. The joint docking in 1975 marked a shift from competition toward cooperation.
Rose gold PVD surrounds the textured blue dial, whose aviation-inspired layout has Super-LumiNova on the hands and hour markers.
The Japanese Seiko Epson YN55 automatic movement drives the hour, minute, and seconds hands and the date. Wrist motion winds the mainspring, and the crown also allows hand winding. Pulling it to set the time stops the seconds hand. A full wind provides approximately 40 hours of running time.
An anti-reflective 3.7 mm K1 crystal covers the dial. The 316L stainless steel case measures 46 mm across and 16.5 mm thick, with a screw-down crown and a solid back. A leather strap measures 22 mm at the lugs and fastens with a buckle. Water resistance is rated at 20 atm, and production is limited to 3,000 watches.

What period does the Space Race line cover?
It spans the competition from the launch of the first artificial satellite in 1957 to the joint Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1975. The docking of Soviet and American spacecraft marked a shift toward cooperation after years of competing missions.
How does K1 crystal differ from sapphire?
K1 is reinforced mineral glass chosen for impact resistance. Sapphire is harder and more resistant to scratches, so the two materials have different strengths. The anti-reflective coating on this watch’s K1 crystal reduces glare.
Does the case diameter include the lugs?
The 46 mm diameter describes the width of the case. Its 54.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement runs in the other direction, from the tip of one lug to the tip of the opposite lug. That longer measurement describes how far the case extends along the wrist, which the diameter alone does not show.
Where are the watch and its movement made?
Vostok Europe assembles the watch in Vilnius, Lithuania, using a Japanese movement from Seiko Epson. Founded in August 2003, the company began using Japanese movements in 2010 and stopped importing Russian movements in 2014.
