Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic GMT Watch with Black Dial.
The Seastrong collection gathers the Alpina dive watches, each set with a ceramic bezel and luminescent hands. The Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic GMT sets the Extreme cushion case, 40.5 mm long, under a bidirectional 24-hour ceramic bezel. In stainless steel, it measures 39 mm across and 12.65 mm thick.
An AL-560 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, a GMT hand and a date at 6 o’clock beneath an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, closed by a screw-down crown and a screw-in case back. The GMT hand carries a red triangle filled with white lume.
The black dial is worked in the triangle pattern, and hand-polished silver hands are filled with white lume. An integrated rubber strap closes on a push-button folding clasp.

What is the Seastrong collection built for?
Diving. Seastrong brings together the dive watches of Alpina, built around ceramic diving bezels and luminescent hands. Gottlieb Hauser founded Alpina in 1883, and the brand produces and assembles its movements and watches at its manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva.
How do you use the GMT hand and the bezel?
Set the GMT hand to your home time on the 24-hour scale, then move the main hour hand in 1-hour jumps to local time. For a third time zone, turn the bezel until the hour of that zone sits under the GMT hand.
How long does it run when it is not worn?
About 50 hours from a full wind. Daily wear keeps the mainspring topped up, and after a longer stay in a drawer a few turns of the crown restart it.
Who makes the movement?
Alpina builds the AL-560 on a Swiss Sellita SW330 automatic base and assembles its watches at its manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, as part of the Frederique Constant group.
How does the luminescent treatment work?
The pigment on the hands and markers stores light and releases it in the dark. It is brightest just after exposure to daylight, fades gradually through the night and recharges the next time it sees light.
