Named for the Atlantic crossing
The Atlantic line takes its name from the transatlantic crossings of the early 20th century. Zeppelin airships began crossing the Atlantic in 1924.
The details
The Swiss Ronda 505.24H quartz movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and GMT hand beneath a hardened K1 mineral crystal. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm across and 12 mm thick. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The brown leather strap, 22 mm at the lugs, fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.

How do I read the GMT hand?
It makes one turn every 24 hours and points to a second time zone on the 24-hour scale. The main hands keep showing local time.
What is Super-LumiNova?
A luminous pigment that absorbs daylight or artificial light and gives it back after dark. On this watch it coats the hands and hour markers.
What is K1 crystal?
K1 is mineral glass that has been heat-treated to harden it, so it resists scratches and impacts better than standard mineral glass. A deep scratch can’t be polished out, though.
How does it differ from 8442-5?
8442-5 has a beige dial. Both share the 40 mm case and the Ronda 505.24H.
How water resistant is it?
It’s water resistant to 50 meters, but Zeppelin advises against wearing it in the shower or tub, or swimming in the ocean with it.
