The Zeppelin 100 Years Ed. 1 frames a blue chronograph dial with a tachymeter scale.
Chronograph and tachymeter
The chronograph times intervals of up to 60 minutes on its counter. A subdial shows the small seconds, and a window shows the date. The tachymeter around the dial converts the time it takes to cover a known distance into average speed.
White on blue
White numerals and hour markers stand out on the blue dial. Luminous hands help you read the time in low light.
The 100 Years line
The first watch in the 100 Years line, called 100 Jahre in German, was shown at the Basel watch fair in 1989.
The details
The Japanese Miyota 6S11 quartz movement powers the hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and chronograph beneath a mineral crystal. The stainless steel case measures 42 mm across and 12 mm thick. The case back screws down. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The blue leather strap fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.

How do I use the tachymeter scale?
Start the chronograph at the beginning of a known distance, such as a mile, and stop it at the end. The chronograph hand then points to your average speed on the scale, in miles per hour if you timed a mile.
What is a mineral crystal?
Mineral glass, the standard crystal on many watches. It handles everyday wear well, but a deep scratch can’t be polished out, so a damaged crystal would need to be replaced by a watchmaker.
How does it differ from 8670-1?
8670-1 has a white dial and a brown leather strap. Both share the 42 mm case and the Miyota 6S11.
Who makes the movement?
Miyota, the Japanese movement maker owned by Citizen. Zeppelin builds the watch around the Miyota 6S11 at its own workshop in Ruhla, Thuringia.
How water resistant is it?
It’s water resistant to 50 meters, but Zeppelin advises against wearing it in the shower or tub, or swimming in the ocean with it.
