The U-Boat Classico U-46 AS1 has a three-level black dial with a visible ruby and a 24-hour display.
A three-level dial with a visible ruby
Black Super-LumiNova coats the numerals and markers on the three-level black metal dial, and the beige hands sit above them. The ruby adds a small red detail, and the date window above the crown completes the face. Anti-reflective sapphire covers the dial.
Rooted in a 1942 naval design
The Classico’s large numerals and protected left-side crown come from Ilvo Fontana’s 1942 plans for an Italian Navy watch that was never built. His grandson Italo revived the design in Lucca.
The details
The 46 mm case is 316L stainless steel and water-resistant to 100 meters.
The Swiss Sellita SW 200 automatic movement, modified to U-Boat’s specifications, displays the hours, minutes, and seconds, along with the date and a 24-hour indication. It has 26 jewels, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and provides a 41-hour power reserve. A smoked mineral crystal window in the steel back reveals the customized skeletonized rotor.
The dark brown leather strap is naturally aged, laser-cut, and handmade in Tuscany. It closes with a steel pin buckle. The watch is made in Italy.

Where can I see the automatic movement?
The main dial has three layers and a visible ruby. A smoked mineral-glass window in the back gives a broader view of the Sellita SW 200 and U-Boat’s customized skeletonized rotor.
What does the 24-hour display tell me?
It distinguishes morning from evening. The main hour hand goes around the dial twice a day, while the 24-hour hand makes one full turn; read it against its own scale to tell, for example, 4 a.m. from 4 p.m.
