The U-Boat Classico U-47 Dark Soul is the Classico in matte and satin black, from the case and bezel to the crown guard.
A three-level black dial
Beige Super-LumiNova on the hands, numerals, and markers stands out against the three-level black dial, and a visible ruby adds a small red detail. Anti-reflective sapphire protects the dial.
Rooted in a 1942 naval design
The Classico’s large numerals and protected left-side crown come from Ilvo Fontana’s 1942 plans for an Italian Navy watch that was never built. His grandson Italo revived the design in Lucca.
The details
The 47 mm 316L stainless steel case has a black IPB finish, in matte and satin, and is water-resistant to 100 meters. A plate on the case side carries the serial number.
The Swiss automatic movement displays the hours, minutes, seconds, and date. It has 26 jewels and runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour. A smoked crystal window in the screw-down back reveals the movement and its skeletonized rotor.
The black calfskin strap is laser-cut, naturally aged, and finished by hand in Tuscany. It closes with a steel pin buckle. The watch is made in Italy.

What gives Dark Soul its layered appearance?
The dial has three overlapping levels, with beige luminous details above its black surface and a visible ruby. The matte and satin finishes of the dark case add a separate contrast.
What is visible through the smoked back?
The automatic movement and its customized skeletonized rotor can be seen through smoked glass. The smoked tint darkens the view through the rear window.
