A brushed and polished hexagon
Vertical brushing contrasts with the polished facets of the hexagonal case, and the bezel carries six decorative screws. The crown sits within a crown guard.
Arctic blue, ready for the water
The arctic-blue dial is stamped horizontally in the marinière pattern, Cap Camarat’s signature. Water resistance of 100 meters makes the watch suitable for swimming.
A cape near Saint-Tropez
Cap Camarat takes its name from a cape on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. The collection reworks a 1970s Herbelin watch in the spirit of the French Riviera.
The details
The Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement displays the hours, minutes, and date and provides a 41-hour power reserve. A see-through case back reveals the rotor.
The stainless steel 316L case measures 40.5 mm across and 10.35 mm thick, and a sapphire crystal covers the dial. Water resistance is rated at 100 meters. The integrated steel bracelet, 24 mm at the lugs, fastens with a folding clasp. Herbelin assembles the watch by hand in France.

Where does the Cap Camarat name come from?
From a cape south of the Saint-Tropez peninsula, swept by Mediterranean spray. The collection reworks a Herbelin watch of the 1970s. Herbelin has made watches since 1947. The family business is now in its 3rd generation, led since 2020 by the founder’s grandsons, Maxime and Mathieu Herbelin.
Where is it made?
The watch is assembled by hand in Herbelin’s workshops in Charquemont, in the French Jura near the Swiss border, and passes 65 quality checks. Its movement is Swiss. Herbelin retains spare parts to restore its models, including older ones.
Can I swim with it?
Its 10 atm rating is suitable for swimming and water activities. Keep the crown fully pushed in and do not operate it while the watch is wet. Rinse the watch in fresh water after wearing it in the sea.
How long will the watch run without being worn?
About 41 hours when fully wound. Daily wear keeps the mainspring wound. After a longer period off the wrist, a few turns of the crown will restart it.
How durable is the crystal?
Sapphire rates 9 on the Mohs scale and is among the most scratch-resistant materials used in watchmaking. Few things encountered in everyday wear will mark it, though a hard impact can still crack it.
