Timex Expedition Tide-Temp-Compass Quartz Watch with Green Dial.
The Expedition line is the outdoor collection of Timex, from tonneau field watches to compass instruments and titanium automatics. The Expedition Tide-Temp-Compass reads the tide, the temperature and an analog compass from a dedicated fourth hand. The stainless steel case measures 45 mm in diameter.
The mineral crystal covers the patented Timex movement, framed by a bidirectional compass bezel, and INDIGLO lights the whole dial at the push of a button.
Luminous hands mark the green dial. A green silicone strap of 16 mm at the lugs is secured by a pin buckle.

What is INDIGLO?
An electroluminescent layer behind the dial. Timex developed INDIGLO in the early 1990s, and the entire face lights at the push of a button, readable in the dark where painted markers have already faded.
How does the tide tracker work?
Set the center hand to the state of the tide where you are, and from there it follows the lunar cycle and shows high and low water through the day.
How does a mineral crystal hold up?
It resists scratching better than acrylic and takes an impact better than sapphire, which is brittle. A deep mark stays, so it is the crystal that asks the least of you and forgives the most.
What is the Expedition line for?
Outdoor use. It covers tonneau field watches, compass and tide instruments, and titanium automatics.
What keeps time inside it?
A quartz crystal is cut to vibrate at a fixed rate, and a circuit counts those vibrations down to step the hands once a second. It holds a few seconds a month and requires a new battery every few years.
