24-hour indication and small seconds
A 24-hour subdial tells day from night at a glance, and a second subdial shows the small seconds. The Clous de Paris pattern, named for the nail heads it resembles, covers the dial in small pyramids that catch the light as your wrist moves. Black Arabic numerals mark the hours.
Named for Friedrichshafen
Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin’s first airship, LZ 1, took off from a floating hangar on Lake Constance, near Friedrichshafen, on July 2, 1900. Starting in 1909, the Zeppelin company built its airships in Friedrichshafen itself.
The details
The Japanese Miyota 82S7 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, small seconds, and 24-hour indication, and provides a power reserve of about 40 hours. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm across and 11 mm thick, and a hardened K1 mineral crystal covers the dial. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The blue leather strap fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.

What does the 24-hour subdial show?
The same time as the main hands, on a 24-hour scale. It shows whether it is morning or evening.
What is the power reserve?
About 40 hours when fully wound. Daily wear keeps the mainspring wound. After a longer period off the wrist, a few turns of the crown will restart it.
What is the Clous de Paris pattern?
A grid of small pyramids across the dial. The pattern is named for nail heads, or clous in French, and its facets catch the light as the viewing angle changes.
How does it differ from 8568-5 and 8568-1?
8568-5 has a gold dial and a brown leather strap. 8568-1 has a white dial and a brown leather strap. All share the 40 mm case and the Miyota 82S7.
How water resistant is it?
It’s water resistant to 50 meters, but Zeppelin advises against wearing it in the shower or tub, or swimming in the ocean with it.
