Day and date
The Miyota 8205 adds the day of the week and the date to the hours, minutes, and seconds. Silver numerals stand out on the black dial, and luminous hands and hour markers help you read the time in low light.
Named for the Atlantic crossing
The Atlantic line takes its name from the transatlantic crossings of the early 20th century. Zeppelin airships began crossing the Atlantic in 1924.
The details
The Japanese Miyota 8205 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, day, and date. It provides a 42-hour power reserve. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm across and 12 mm thick, and a hardened K1 mineral crystal covers the dial. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The black leather strap, 22 mm at the lugs, fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.

What is the power reserve?
About 42 hours when fully wound. Daily wear keeps the mainspring wound. After a longer period off the wrist, a few turns of the crown will restart it.
What is K1 crystal?
K1 is mineral glass that has been heat-treated to harden it, so it resists scratches and impacts better than standard mineral glass. A deep scratch can’t be polished out, though.
How does it differ from 8466-5 and 8466-3?
8466-5 has a beige dial and a brown leather strap. 8466-3 has a blue dial and a brown leather strap. All share the 40 mm case and the Miyota 8205.
Where is it made?
In Germany. Zeppelin builds the watch around the Japanese Miyota 8205 movement at its own workshop in Ruhla, Thuringia.
How water resistant is it?
It’s water resistant to 50 meters, but Zeppelin advises against wearing it in the shower or tub, or swimming in the ocean with it.
