The Bauhaus Dessau Power Reserve is an automatic watch with a power reserve indicator near 12 o’clock.
Power reserve and small seconds
Below the indicator, a small seconds subdial counts the seconds. A window on the dial shows the date.
Luminous hands and dots
White numerals and indices mark the dark blue dial. The luminous hands and dots help you read the time in low light.
Dessau and the Bauhaus
Dessau, the city that gives the line its name, was home to the Bauhaus school from 1925 to 1932. The watches themselves are assembled in Ruhla, Thuringia, where watchmaking dates back to 1892.
The details
The Japanese Miyota 9132 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and power reserve indicator, and provides a 40-hour power reserve. A see-through case back reveals the rotor.
The polished stainless steel case measures 41 mm across and 12 mm thick, and a K1 mineral crystal covers the dial. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters. The dark blue leather strap, 20 mm at the lugs, fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.
The hand shows roughly how many hours of power remain. It falls as the mainspring unwinds and rises as you wear the watch or turn the crown.
About 40 hours when fully wound. Daily wear keeps the mainspring wound. After a longer period off the wrist, a few turns of the crown will start the watch again.
A specially hardened mineral crystal. It resists scratches better than standard mineral crystal, though sapphire is harder still.
The 2060-4 has a dark green dial and a light brown leather strap. Both have the 41 mm case, the Miyota 9132 movement, and the power reserve indicator.
It’s made in Germany, uses a Japanese automatic movement, and comes with a 3-year warranty.
