  • The art of writing: a journey that never ends – Day 7 of Iguana Pen Week

    November 04, 2025 2 min read

Seven days, eleven countries, endless ways to write. Our Iguana Pen Week comes to its final stop today, but this journey has only just begun. Because writing, like life, is an endless path: every word opens new possibilities, every stroke leaves a mark on memory. In the end, writing is another way of traveling — inward, toward others, and toward everything that’s still waiting to be discovered.

What this journey has taught us

From Japan we learned the calm and spirituality of each stroke; from Germany, precision and reliability; from Italy, passion and expressiveness; from the United States, practical innovation; and from France, literary elegance. Five different ways to understand writing, united by a single essence: the human desire to leave a mark.

Each country reminded us that handwriting isn’t a habit of the past, but a deeply modern experience. In a fast-paced world, taking a fountain pen and writing becomes an act of resistance — a personal luxury that connects us with the present moment. Because in every stroke lives a story, an emotion, a fleeting yet unforgettable instant.

The pen as a travel companion

If there’s one thing all these cultures share, it’s the belief that a pen is not just an object. It’s a companion that grows with us, that holds our ideas and emotions, that invites us to pause and savor the everyday. In every country, this relationship takes on a different shade — but the bond is universal.

With the serenity of a Japanese Sailor, the precision of a German Pelikan, the flair of an Italian Visconti, the creativity of an American Esterbrook or the elegance of a French Waterman, we understand that writing isn’t just about putting words on paper — it’s about caring for how we do it. The fountain pen becomes a mirror of its writer: each line reveals character, intention, and soul.

A journey that continues with you

The Pen Week ends, but the invitation remains open. Every time you hold a pen between your fingers, you begin a new journey — one that’s intimate, personal, and full of meaning. The destination doesn’t matter; what truly counts is the path you draw with every word. Handwriting means slowing down time, observing the invisible, and discovering yourself through what you write.

Today we close this week of celebration, but open a reflection that will stay with us forever: writing is a journey that never truly ends. Because as long as there’s something to say, an emotion to put on paper, or a thought to turn into ink, writing will remain alive. And every pen, no matter its origin, will remind us that the most valuable part of this journey is you — the writer.
