The Namiki Nippon Art Ukiyo-e Taira no Kagekiyo fountain pen represents a brave warrior who played an active role in the battles of the late Heian period Genpei Wars (794-1185). He is depicted in black, red, and gold to accentuate his strength. Ukiyo-e, or "Floating World Image," represents a Japanese artistic movement from the Edo period (1603-1868) that encompasses not only original popular and narrative painting but also, and especially, all Japanese woodblock prints.
