Origami is one of the most unique and beautiful arts of Japanese culture and tradition. The paper penguin figures become part of the body of the pen. Penguins are the symbol of loyalty, devotion, unity, parental love, elegance, sociability, and adaptability. This pen uses the Hira Maki-e technique, where the lacquered main design is decorated with sprinkled gold and silver powders, several additional layers of lacquer are then applied and after the lacquer is hardened, it is then burnished.
Arrived in great condition. Beautiful pen. My daughter was excited for her Christmas gift.

Great pen, with a surprise ink. Happy customer!
I love penguins, so it was really hard to say no to this design. I was even more blown away when seeing it in person.
I was expecting it to be slightly bigger, however that is my fault for not researching at the size. I normally gravitate towards larger pens. I find the pen comfortable to write with. I believe the nib is the same size as my Custom 92, but it has a different design on it.
It also came with a free ink bottle! That was a surprise to me, again should have done some more research. My bottle had a black lid and blue ink. I thought this was odd, so I reached out to Iguana. They said that all Namiki inks come with the black lid. I just wanted any future purchasers to be aware.
