I bought the Visconti Van Gogh Mauve expecting, well… mauve.
This pen is not mauve.
It is pink. Gloriously, unmistakably, enthusiastically pink, swirled with creamy white like some beautiful confection. I have stared at it from every angle waiting for the mauve to reveal itself. It has declined.
But here’s the problem: I love it.
The resin has wonderful movement and every turn of the pen gives you something slightly different. Add Visconti’s terrific spring clip—which lifts beautifully away from the cap instead of making you wrestle with it—and the whole thing feels as good as it looks.
So I’ve decided not to argue with it anymore.
Visconti calls it Mauve.
My eyes call it Pink.
The pen clearly doesn’t care what either of us thinks.
Five stars for being absolutely the wrong color and absolutely gorgeous anyway.
