My 1980's Waterman Exclusive, which has been my favourite fountain pen for over 35 years, suffered a catastrophic breakage. So this Exception was an attempt for a replacement/next favourite. Instant changing of the guards! There has been no change in the quality of finish, writing and feel from the Exclusive.
It did take a little while to get used to the squarish cross-sectiion. But once I worked out where to tuck the middle finger, handling was quite natural.
