The Montegrapps is my favorite Italian fountain pen. Very well made and the nib is fantastic - writes well right out of the box- no issues at all. I got the medium nib.

I use it with the Diamine inks.

Wet nib, true to a western medium, writes like a dream - Totally recommended.

Only giving 4 stars because I have some genuinely 5 star pens and while this is excellent I think the 1930 Extra and some of my Visconti's are superior. Nonetheless its great - very good nib with a bit of feedback. It's sounds "musical" on the page and makes the writing expericence feel quite tactile. Nice nedium wet line (from a medium) - perfect. Really accentuates shading in a good ink. Very comfortable body shape though slim. More comfortable than I thought it might be. The finish is striking (not over the top) though perhaps I prefer Montegrappa's celluloid finishes. Still this is a great pen and it is lovely to write with. I recommend it.

Colours are muted and the pen is light in weight ,it is not easy to write.I do not rate this pen highly.
